Why Send Your Luggage?

Most guests reach Myoko Apartments by taking the Shinkansen to either Nagano Station or Joetsumyoko Station, then hiring a car to complete the trip. Others continue by local train to Myoko Kogen Station, then use the local car hire option, M.J. Car Rental Services. Whichever route you take, dragging a bulky ski bag through crowded stations—or worse, trying to fit it onto a packed Tokyo train—is an experience best avoided.

By sending your gear directly to Myoko Apartments, you’ll have more freedom to navigate stations, stairs, and narrow train aisles without the burden of oversized luggage.

How It Works

Japan’s takkyubin (luggage delivery) system is one of the most reliable in the world. Services like Kuroneko Yamato (Black Cat) offer safe, trackable delivery of your bags, skis, or snowboards from major airports or city hotels straight to us in Myoko.

You can easily arrange this at a Yamato counter in the airport upon arrival in Japan, or ask the front desk at your Tokyo hotel to assist. Just provide the following delivery address:

Sending Luggage When You Leave

You may want to send your bags back to the airport or ahead to your next destination at the end of your stay. Just let us know—we’re happy to help arrange pickup and ensure your luggage gets where it needs to go.

Something to Keep in Mind

Although luggage often arrives sooner, Yamato will typically guarantee a 2-day maximum between Myoko and your luggage’s destination. However, this may not be the case during a large snowstorm affecting large areas of the country. Should this be the case, they will let you know this when you send from a counter, and likewise, we will let you know when sending with us.
